IAU is a coalition of all African communities in the Hoosier State, it emerges from the recognition of Indiana’s rapidly growing and increasingly diverse African immigrant communities. It is founded on the principle that our strength lies in our unity, our shared heritage, and our collective vision for building a vibrant, supportive, and empowered African diaspora network across the state of Indiana and notion wide.
Art. 2.2: Purpose
Specific purpose :
Indiana. Indiana Africans United’s purpose is to provide education to African Hoosiers, promote healthcare access, advocate for social justice, protect the environment, support the arts, alleviate poverty, assist with disaster relief, empower African Hoosier communities, preserving cultural heritage, and providing food security for African Hoosiers in need.
General purpose :
To create a comprehensive, inclusive platform that brings together African immigrants from diverse national, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds residing in the State of Indiana.
To foster mutual support, cultural preservation, and collective advocacy for the African diaspora community.
To amplify the voices, contributions, and potential of African immigrants in Indiana’s social, economic, political, and cultural landscapes.
