Art. 1.1: Context & Denomination
On December 2nd, 2024, visionary leaders from various African nations, including Chad, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Somalia, Cameroon, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Guinea, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, and Mali, convened at the Fort Wayne, IN Public Library, under the leadership of Mr. Lamadine O. ABDOULAYE. They identified the challenges faced by African immigrants in Indiana State and the broader needs of the African continent. To amplify their collective voice, these leaders focused on addressing the opportunity gaps affecting immigrant populations from Africa residing in the State of Indiana. They subsequently presented their concerns and created the “INDIANA AFRICANS UNITED” or “(IAU)”

Art. 1.2: Type
“INDIANA AFRICANS UNITED’’ or “(IAU)” is exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501( c ) ( 3 ) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provisions of any future United States and Internal Revenue Law), or by a corporation contribution to which are deductible under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provisions of any future Unites States Internal Revenue Law).

The organization is NON-PROFIT, and NON-CONFESSIONAL, and governed by the laws in force in the State of Indiana and the Federal laws of the United States of America as well as by these statutes and the organization internal regulations.

Art. 1.3: Headquarters
The headquarters of the organization is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and may be transferred to any other city in the State of Indiana by decision of the general assembly in its majority.

Art. 1.4: Registration
The organization is registered in the registry of domestic non-profit organizations Act of 1991 at the Secretary of State in Indianapolis in the State of Indiana in the United States of America.
